Commercial, residential, old and new construction

The Heating, Ventilation, Refrigeration and Plumbing program instructs students in the theory, construction, and repair of gas and oil burners, component parts, water and air systems, and plumbing basics. Using tools and test instruments, forming sheet metal and materials, job and material estimating and learning how to read and follow blueprints and building code requirements are skills developed through this course.  

Recommended Academic Levels


  • Reading: 9th Grade Levels
  • Math: Radius, circumference, volume, distance, fractions, decimals, and formulas

Recommended Academic Courses


  • On level English or higher
  • Algebra 1, Geometry (math skills used every day in class and practical applications)
